Create a Wrist Extension to Compress Irons with Shaft Lean

It's Henry Fall from the Mile Lines Golf Academy, and today we're delving into the crucial topic of wrist extension in your golf swing. Wrist extension, the backward movement of your knuckles towards your forearm, holds the key to enhancing your game.

When seeking to compress the golf ball, achieve greater shaft lean, and attain that dynamic impact, wrist extension becomes your secret weapon. Visualize this: a straightened arm, a relatively aligned shaft, and a touch of wrist extension – voila! A perfect 90-degree angle forms, a game-changer for generating power and reducing dynamic loft.

Incorporating this extension during your downswing, especially in the trail wrist, is a game plan for success. Remember, the club might appear shorter due to the extension, requiring a slight lowering and opening to nail that perfect strike.

To refine your technique, try this drill: smoothly transition into a full extended state, maintaining a 90-degree angle between the shaft and your left arm, with your right wrist elegantly extended. Gradually work your way up, practicing the motion until you're ready to unleash that newfound shaft lean in your swing.

With wrist extension in your arsenal, you'll elevate your golfing prowess and command the course like never before. So, grip it and rip it – the power of wrist extension awaits!
