Rukket Golf Tips: Chipping - Solid Contact & Setup

Hey Rukket Nation, Henry Fall and Dana Finkelstein here from the LPGA TOUR. Despite the scorching 95-degree heat in sunny Phoenix, we're excited to share a valuable chipping tip with you. When it comes to chipping, solid contact is key. Having a clear landing zone in mind is crucial because if you can't hit the chip solidly to that zone, you're unlikely to get the ball close to the hole.

Let's dive into some setup basics for chipping. Dana demonstrates a narrow stance, roughly shoulder-width apart, and even slightly open. Choking down on the club and positioning the ball forward help achieve that clean contact. While some suggest placing the ball farther back, Dana emphasizes that a more central position can lead to consistent strikes.

Pay attention to your weight distribution too, with a slightly forward lean of around 60-40. Avoid the common mistake of positioning the ball too far back and having the handle excessively forward, which can lead to chipping issues or the dreaded "chipping yips."

Give these setup adjustments a try and watch your chipping game improve.
