Rukket Golf Tips: Stick Drill For Rotation And Shaft Lean

Hey Rukket Nation, it's Henry Fall and Dana Finkelstein from the LPGA Tour. Today, Dana is going to walk us through a valuable drill she's been using for the past couple of years involving an alignment stick.

The main focus is on avoiding excessive extension into the ball during the swing. To demonstrate, take an alignment stick or club, grip it around halfway down or slightly more. Hold it outside your left hip, just beyond your belt buckle. The goal is to prevent moving too aggressively towards the ball during the downswing.

The purpose of this drill is to encourage rotational motion and prevent early extension. By practicing this, you can enhance your impact dynamics and achieve a more solid and consistent strike. It might take a bit to adjust, but with time, you'll notice improved club control and impact position.

Remember, the key is to avoid hitting yourself during the swing, maintaining a slight shaft lean, and allowing for a smooth rotation. Give it a try and watch your swing mechanics improve over time.
